Courtney Storrs, Co-Owner

Courtney Storrs grew up in Aurora, Illinois just west of Chicago.  She attended the University of Colorado at Boulder where she met her husband and Oregon native, Leather. To help fund her skiing addiction, Courtney worked in restaurants throughout college and full-time during the summers.  One summer, at age 20, she managed a restaurant and realized the 80 hour work weeks were not a myth.  “When you feel as comfortable at your restaurant as you do at home, it makes working long hours easier.” While Courtney’s husband went to the Culinary Institute in Hyde Park, NY, she worked in several different restaurants. After CIA, Courtney went with Leather to Napa Valley and worked at the French Laundry.  This is where Courtney caught the wine bug.  After hopping around the US and Europe, Courtney and Leather settled in Portland.  Courtney worked at Brick House Winery, Paley’s Place and then Beaumont Wines, where she met Kimberly.  “I just wanted to focus and learn as much as I could about wine and Kimberly’s bottle selection made that easy.” After Kimberly’s wine shop, Courtney tried out a 9-5 job at Columbia Sportswear. A year and a half later Courtney received a call from Kimberly asking, “Do you still want to open a wine bar?” Courtney lives in Southeast Portland with her husband (& co-owner) Leather, son Rye and daughter Charlotte.
